Trash Arts Ltd is a Portsmouth-based independent film company known for its prolific output in micro-budget horror cinema and its commitment to community-driven arts initiatives. Founded by filmmaker Sam Mason Bell and Jackson Batchelor, Trash Arts has produced over 20 horror features, including titles such as Senseless, The Truth Will Out, Acting, and Home Is Where I Lay.
Their films have gained international attention, screening at independent horror festivals worldwide and securing distribution through companies including Darkside Releasing, Gravitas Ventures, Bayview Entertainment, Cleopatra Entertainment, and DeskPop Entertainment. Recent projects include I Curse This Land (2025), Deadly Display (2025), Incessant (2024), They Wait In Shadows (2026), and A Final Exorcism (2026).
Beyond filmmaking, Trash Arts co-founded the Pompeywood Film Festival, a genre-focused event celebrating horror and fantastical cinema, featuring awards such as Best Local Film and Audience Choice. The company is also actively engaged in community outreach, delivering workshops in schools that teach filmmaking skills and how to create effective horror scenes, as well as offering shadowing opportunities for students on live productions.
