Loree Westron is an American writer and a long-standing resident of Portsmouth. Her short fiction has been shortlisted in major competitions including the Fish Prize, the V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize and the Seattle Review Fiction Contest, and published in journals and anthologies including The London Magazine. Her essays have been published in literary and academic journals including Western American Literature and Short Fiction in Theory and Practice. Her travel writing has been published online and in print publications. She is the former editor of the international online short story forum, Thresholds, and holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Chichester.
She has 10 years’ experience teaching creative writing and leading writing workshops, and 15 years of experience as a mentor. She is also a certified editor, working with authors of both academic and creative work.
After the publication of her first novel in 2021, Loree founded the Portsmouth Authors Collective to support independent and small press authors in promoting and selling their books. In this capacity, she has organised numerous book stalls at local markets and liaised with local buisinsses. She is also a regular presenter on the Portsmouth Authors Collective Book Club on Victory Online Radio.
