Janet run's Southsea Community Choir (est. 2007) and runs numerous singing and music workshops for adult beginners and improvers, folk band and folk dance in Southsea. She is full time freelance and offers singing workshops for organisations and community groups. She was awarded an honorary degree in 2022 from Portsmouth University for her community music work in the city.

Qualified Illustrator (Uni Ports 1995 alumni), Janet runs a regular art club, plus one off workshops in drawing, collage, printmaking and bookmaking. She has exhibited prints with the Society of Wood Engravers (student category), The Badger Press and Omega Printmakers.
